Welcome to SORCA Online

Mozambique Vehicle Insurance Portal

Mozambique mandates that all foreign-registered vehicles entering the country must have valid third-party insurance, known as Seguro Obrigatório de Responsabilidade Civil Automóvel (SORCA). SORCA Online, in partnership with AMS (Associação Moçambicana de Seguradoras), offers a secure and easy-to-use platform for purchasing this required insurance, ensuring legal compliance and protection for both visitors and residents.

To facilitate the payment process, Digittal manages all transactions on behalf of SORCA Online. Digittal has outsourced its payment processing to Mint Consulting Group Limited, a UK-based firm specializing in secure and efficient financial operations. This ensures that all payments for SORCA cover are handled with the highest standards of security and reliability.

Welcome to SORCA Online

Mozambique Vehicle Insurance Portal

Mozambique has mandated that all foreign vehicles entering the country must have valid insurance coverage. This is called Seguro Obrigatório de Responsabilidade Civil Automóvel (SORCA). SORCA Online, in partnership with AMS (Associação Moçambicana de Seguradoras), the Insurance Association of Mozambique, provides a convenient and secure way to obtain the mandatory third-party insurance required by law to protect both visitors and local residents in the event of an accident.

Why is Third-Party Insurance Mandatory?

The Mozambican Government has legislated that all foreign vehicles entering Mozambique must have SORCA cover.  This is a legal requirement to ensure that any damages or injuries caused to others in the event of an accident are covered.

AMS, in collaboration with the Mozambican insurance regulator, has made this compulsory insurance for foreign vehicles more accessible by launching the SORCA Online platform. This measure helps protect you from unforeseen liabilities while ensuring your compliance with Mozambican laws.

When entering Mozambique, all motor vehicles and trailers need to be cleared by Customs. As part of the vehicle clearance process, Customs Officials will verify that there is valid SORCA cover, which may include checking the SORCA Online platform. Vehicle entry into Mozambique may be delayed or denied if valid SORCA cover is not in place.

Who Must Purchase SORCA?

All commercial and non-commercial vehicles, as well as trailers, registered outside of Mozambique are required to purchase SORCA cover for the entire duration of their stay in the country. Each policy is valid for 30 days, so if you intend to stay longer, please ensure you extend your SORCA cover accordingly.

Important Notice: A separate insurance policy is required for both your vehicle and any trailer you may be towing. Before entering the border post, please double-check that you have obtained cover for both to avoid any complications.
